Kaboum is an applet written in java 1.1. It works with web browsers that are conform to Java 1.1 and Javascript specifications (including LiveConnect).
The aim of this applet is to display thematic maps through the Internet.
Maps are GIF, JPEG or PNG images
computed on the webserver using any map engine capable to propose webmapping service (OGC WMS) . Currently, the Open source cgi-bin tool MapServer from the Minnesota University is used as the default engine.
Kaboum can also display and edit vector objects.
